Find A Close Las Vegas Family Dentist

If you live in one of the four main cities within the immense Las Vegas Valley - Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City – there are probably several dental clinics nearby your home or work.

*** Hidden Dental Practices ***

You might have seen a few, but there are a lot of clinics you aren’t aware of.

That’s because even though there is such a large number of dental offices in the valley, their offices may be off the main thoroughfare or otherwise hidden from casual view.

*** The Phone Book ***

Of course, one resource is the phone book.

Just keep in mind that there are 66 pages of dental practice listings in the Las Vegas Metro Yellow Pages.

So, good luck using the phone book to find a close dental office.

It’s unfortunate perhaps, but the internet is quickly making the phonebook obsolete.

In addition, only the dentists who can afford to fork over large sums of money (thousands a year) get the huge, full or half-page color yellow page ads that get a greater response rate.

The standard listings are all but useless.

But here’s a tip: The largest ad doesn’t necessarily mean the best doctor.

Don’t be misled…

*** The Big Valley ***

Another thing to realize is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a huge area.

In fact, it’s right at 600 square miles incorporating about 65 zip codes.

And while people tend to “shop” for a dentist almost as diligently as they do their church, one must not forget convenience.

In other words, people will ordinarily travel quite a distance to get what they desperately need or want.

*** Driving And Stress ***

However, most people would prefer not to traverse the entire valley for a dental appointment (or church, for that matter), if they don’t have to.

Now add something like a dental appointment and you have a perfect recipe for a stress double whammy.

Alright, it’s clear that the average person doesn’t want to take on a quest to get to a dental appointment.

So, once more, what’s the best way to find a local dentist?

*** Use The Internet ***

These days, with the possible exception of word-of-mouth, your best bet is the internet.

So, there are four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and over 1,200 dentists.

Where should you start?

Go to your favorite search engine – we recommend Google because it offers certain features other search engines don’t.

*** Use The Right Search Terms ***

Into the search box, type something like: local dentist, or nearby Las Vegas Pediatric Dentist.

If you are looking for a specialist, you can use terms like these: Henderson Prosthodontist or North Las Vegas braces dentist.

In fact, Google, Yahoo and MSN’s search algorithms are now so advanced, they can tell where you are searching from and display ads and listings relevant to your city.

Check it out by just typing something like: nearby dental offices, local children’s dentist or even just the root term itself, like: endodontist or nitrous oxide dentist.

Also, with most search engines, you can just type in a term and your zip code to get focused regional results.

From there, you can also use the maps function to see exactly where a specific listing is in proximity to your home or work.

One of the great benefits of this feaure is the ability to view and print-out both a map and turn-by-turn driving directions.

So, test search terms like these to really get focused: root canal dentist 89005 , cosmetic dentist 89044 or you might even try something like: teeth whitening 89084.

You don’t have to use words like “a” or “an”, because the search engines automatically overlook those words anyway.

Search engine users in general input full sentences.  But in reality, Google (and other search engines) work more efficiently without the use of non-relevant filler words.

*** The Search Listings ***

You should be aware of something before you go searching online for a dentist.

Not every first page listing will yield any real results.  Much of what you initially find may be of poor quality.

It’s sad, but the majority of dental sites seem to be mini-directories where only a few applicable dentists are represented.

So, much like the phone book, only the dentists who have paid the site owner for a listing will be represented.

Obviously, this excludes most of the clinics in the valley – including ones near you.

As time goes by you’ll see more and more dental practices with their own websites as well as fewer and fewer junky sites listed.

But most dentists don’t have their own website and are only listed many pages deep in the search
engines for what are very common terms.

*** It’s All About Marketing ***

In other words, they are as invisible on the web as their offices seem to be in the community.

Clearly, becoming a dentist doesn’t also include an education in business and marketing.

Thus, the common challenge of finding a good local dentist.

Ever wonder how some clinics seem to thrive and others to remain in the shadows?  Marketing is the key.

An added benefit of effective advertising and marketing is the additional word-of-mouth referrals for new patients from the increased flow of newly signed-up patients.

*** Persistence Pays ***

With a little effort, you too can surely locate a nearby dentist who meets your qualifications and offers what you need and want.

We hope the information presented will be of value to you.
